John,
Twenty-four million people utilized the ACA marketplace in 2025 to provide health insurance to themselves and their families. And now, those 24 million people are getting sticker shock. Millions can now see how their premium costs are skyrocketing1 and many more will find out when ACA enrollment launches this Saturday.
If Congress doesn’t act immediately to renew enhanced ACA subsidies, health insurance premiums will more than double for everyone on the ACA exchanges.2 And, as a result, nearly 5 million people will ultimately lose health insurance because they can’t afford coverage.3
Open enrollment on the ACA marketplace opens this weekend, meaning Congress needs to act now. And, while Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has had the House on recess since September 19th, refusing to negotiate a bipartisan solution to the government shutdown, there are reports that Senate Republicans could be negotiating a vote on the enhanced ACA premium tax credits with Democrats.4 With congressional Republicans and the administration driving up health costs along with groceries and housing through their massive cuts to basic needs programs, and many families facing the prospect of not being able to put food on the table this weekend as the administration withholds funding for SNAP, the time for Congress to stop huge hikes in health costs is now.
Send a message to your Senators and Representative today demanding Congress act now to keep health insurance premiums down and keep millions of Americans insured.

John,
This Saturday, November 1st, open enrollment on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace begins, and millions of Americans will get a sticker shock as insurance premiums are expected to more than double.1 And as of last night, this is getting more real for many families who live in the 30 states that use healthcare.gov, the federal ACA marketplace, who can now see what they’ll pay for health coverage.2 Open enrollment makes it urgent for Congress to act, because when people see what they’ll have to pay without the current support from tax credits, millions are expected to drop out and become uninsured.
The only way to stop skyrocketing health insurance rates for millions of Americans is for Congress to act immediately to extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits. With Congress and the administration driving up health costs along with groceries through massive cuts to basic needs programs, the time to act is now. Millions of people are already bracing for the loss of SNAP benefits the Trump administration is choosing to inflict starting November 1st3, and with increasing prices on everything from food to housing, we’re demanding Congress act ASAP to keep health insurance rates affordable.
Send a message to Congress now and demand they extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits and keep health insurance affordable for millions of people.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has had the House of Representatives on recess since September 19th. Meanwhile, he claims Congress has until the end of the year to address skyrocketing health insurance rates. But with open enrollment on the ACA Marketplace starting this weekend, Congress must act now.
House Republicans are feeling the heat, with constituents demanding a solution to keep their premiums from increasing and 13 members signing a letter to Johnson calling on their party to focus on health care affordability immediately.4 All of this is happening while Donald Trump and Republican leaders in Congress refuse to come to the table to negotiate a bipartisan end to the shutdown and address skyrocketing health costs; Trump is not even providing his party with guidance on how to navigate this upcoming cliff.5
The only reasonable plan is to bring the House back into session, for Republican leaders to come to the table for bipartisan negotiations, and extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits now.
Send a message to Congress telling them to work together to extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits before it’s too late.
Thank you for all you do,
