Imagine that you’re a Democratic strategist in a lab where you can create, from scratch, the perfect candidate.  First, let’s make her a Black woman. That’s not foolproof, as evidenced by Kamala Harris’s defeat, but it’s a good start.  Next, she’s an immigrant from Jamaica who moved to the USA as a little girl and grew up in the Bronx.  Also, your candidate earned a master’s degree and then served four years as an electrician in the Marine Corps.  To top it off, she led a prison ministry, directed a homeless shelter, and has led an exemplary life.
