Let me briefly explain why:
House Republicans are spreading lies and refusing to come to work. Their top priority is tax breaks for their billionaire donors, not helping millions of struggling families stay afloat.
With Republicans refusing to open the government, this moment must be spent highlighting the many men and women across IL-17 that they are seeking to hurt -- and using every tool available to force Mike Johnson’s hand.
That includes swearing in Adelita Grijalva, protecting our soybean farmers, and ensuring our neighbors have affordable healthcare, and so much more.
The truth is I have not used this month to raise money for my re-election campaign while working to stop Republican harm on our communities. That tradeoff makes sense to me, but Republicans haven’t stopped their dark money machine.
We are hoping to close our $5,000 fundraising gap by the end of October to stay on pace. If we meet our goal, we’ll send a clear message that we’re on track to build the blue wave through the Midwest.
