Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners (Board) on topics relevant to Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update [ [link removed] ]. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.
*Planning Commission*
The next Planning Commission meeting will be on Wednesday, November 5, at 6 pm. The meeting will be held _ONLINE only_. Long Range Planning will be presenting updates on the discussions with Oak Harbor regarding their Urban Growth Area and housing allocations, and the reassessment of the Countywide Planning Policies. *Board of County Commissioners*
Long Range Planning will be meeting with the Board on Wednesday, November 5, to review draft code changes relating to Rural Areas of More Intensive Development (RAIDs or LAMIRDs), and to discuss the recommendations from the Planning Commission on points for forestry under the Public Benefit Rating System (PBRS). Meeting materials will be available in the agenda center [ [link removed] ] later this week.
At the Board’s meeting on November 12, Long Range Planning will review the draft code changes related to Planned Residential Developments (PRDs or Rural Clusters) and will provide an overall comprehensive plan schedule update.
