Republicans shut down the government -- and shut off food for millions.

John,

It’s about as mean and cruel as anything you can imagine.

This week, the Trump administration is cutting off food assistance for millions of Americans, refusing to use emergency funds that could keep the SNAP program going through the shutdown.

They could fix it today, but Trump would rather build a ballroom for himself.

Trump and Speaker Johnson are holding the American people hostage — veterans, seniors, kids — all so they can protect tax breaks for billionaires. They’ve got the power to feed people, but they’re choosing not to.

To hold our seat and take back the House -- to hold Trump and the GOP accountable -- we need to raise $10,000 before tomorrow night. Can I count on you?

If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

In Maine alone, 170,000 people rely on SNAP — including 35,000 kids and 6,000 veterans. Our food banks are already stretched thin, and they can’t possibly fill the gap. This is what happens when cruelty becomes a political strategy.

And it’s not just food. Trump and his MAGA allies have illegally gutted the federal government, furloughed workers, and walked away from their jobs while Americans wonder how they’ll get through next week. Republicans aren’t even in Washington; they’ve literally fled town while people go hungry.

That’s the level of contempt we’re dealing with. And I’ll keep calling it what it is: utter bullshit.

But I can’t do this alone. If you’ve been waiting for the moment to take a stand — this is it.

Please rush your donation now to ensure we hit our big October fundraising goal before midnight tomorrow.

Thanks for all that you do.
