Now: NC. Next: all across America?

Roy Cooper for North Carolina

John, you need to see this.

Politico - Red states are preparing for an end to the Voting Rights Act. An end to the Voting Rights Act would free up Southern states to dramatically overhaul their congressional map.

GOP extremists are already rigging North Carolina’s electoral maps to steal seats in Congress — and they want to do it everywhere else too. If you stand with Roy Cooper against silencing voters, can you rush $5 right now? >>>

Across the south, national Republicans are openly plotting to racially discriminate and gerrymander out majority-minority districts:

→ In South Carolina: “If we could have a clean sweep, I would love that.”
Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, on erasing South Carolina’s only Democrat

→ In Florida: “[It will] necessitate new congressional redistricting.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis, on what Florida will do if the Supreme Court guts the VRA

Just last week, we got a taste of extreme GOP gerrymandering when the North Carolina state legislature convened a special session. Their only goal? To redraw the district that elected NC’s first Black representative since the Jim Crow era.

National Republicans have shown us they don’t care about paying our teachers, supporting our economy, or expanding health care access. Their top priorities are rubber-stamping Trump’s reckless agenda, stealing power they haven’t earned, and silencing Black voters — potentially for generations to come.

John, if the Supreme Court demolishes the VRA, the extreme GOP is ready to put our democracy through the shredder. But Roy will continue to be a fierce advocate for our right to make our voices heard. If you care about voting rights, can you give $5 today? >>>

Thanks so much,
Team Cooper
