John,

Sometimes the effects of climate change can feel abstract — hard to see or imagine. But here’s one you can see with your own eyes:

New satellite research shows that the Earth’s oceans are literally losing their color. Over the past 20 years, scientists have watched the vibrant green color of our oceans (produced by phytoplankton that sustain marine life and absorb carbon) begin to fade away.

This is why we must take action to protect our planet immediately. Will you chip in now to help elect strong climate champions who are fighting to tackle the climate crisis head-on? [[link removed]]

FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE » [[link removed]]This is more than just a color shift. It’s a warning sign for our planet. Less phytoplankton means less carbon pulled from the atmosphere, fewer fish and ecosystems that depend on them, and a weaker global climate system overall.

Our oceans are changing before our eyes and unless we act now, we risk losing one of Earth’s greatest defenses against the climate crisis.

That’s why SEEC members in Congress are leading the fight to protect our oceans, invest in clean energy, and take real action on the climate crisis. But they can’t do it without us.

Will you chip in to help elect and defend climate champions who are standing up to Trump’s attacks and fighting for a more sustainable environment? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
