Hi John-
The gun industry's tricks aren't treatsâthey're deadly.
While families are carving pumpkins for the holidays, gun extremists in
Congress are busy trying to carve away our gun safety laws with their
reckless agenda.
While kids are outside trick-or-treating, the Trump Administration is
handing out treats to the gun industry that put our public safety and
national security at risk.
So far, the gun industry's supporters in Congress and state legislatures
have backed bills to:
*Â đ» Dismantle gun safety laws at the state levelâlike in North Carolina,
where lawmakers in the state Senate voted to override Governor Stein's
veto of a widely-opposed bill that allows people 18 or older to carry
concealed handguns in public without a permit.
*Â đ·ïžArm teachers in schools in states across the countryâeven as guns
continue to be the number 1 killer of kids and teens.
*Â đGive the gun industry hand outsâlike passing Trump's 'Big Beautiful
Bill' that contained a secret provision that makes it easier for the
first time in almost 100 years for people to buy silencers,
short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and other dangerous weapons by
weakening one of our nation's foundational federal gun lawsâa $1.7
billion giveaway that will put people in danger.
And to make matters worse, one of the first things House Republicans want
to do when the government reopens is vote on the gun industry-backed
Concealed Carry Mandateâa deadly bill that would force each state to allow
people from other states to carry hidden, loaded guns in publicâeven in
states that wouldn't otherwise let them. This includes people who have
been convicted of violent crimes or stalking, people with no safety
training at all, and people under the age of 21.
The gun industry is counting on fear and fatigue to help them win. But our
grassroots movement of nearly 11 million supporters are ready to fight
back, and we could really use your support.
