Hate is closer than you think

Friend,
The number of hate and extremist groups operating in the U.S. is alarming — and a stark reminder that hate is just around the corner.
The latest Southern Poverty Law Center Hate Map ([link removed]) — used by journalists, researchers, academics and policymakers — is one of the few comprehensive tools available that tracks hate groups across the country by ideology, city and state.
The data may surprise you: Click below to see hate activity happening in your community. ([link removed])

When you stand with the SPLC, you’re not only helping oppose far-right hate and antigovernment groups — you’re standing up for truth, justice and the right to call out dangerous rhetoric and violence.
Last year alone, we tracked 1,371 active hate and antigovernment extremist groups. These groups spread propaganda, incite violence and exploit online platforms to recruit and organize — all to divide the country.
This is part of a broader strategy to undermine American democracy. But we refuse to stay silent. This moment demands accountability and real solutions.
During Hate Crimes Awareness Month, we invite you to continue the movement with us and explore the Hate Map to see active groups in your community. ([link removed])

Hate has no place in our country — and we know you agree. Lasting justice is only possible when we take a strong stance to confront and dismantle hate.
Thank you for supporting this very important work.
In solidarity,
The Southern Poverty Law Center
