John,

It’s been another long, drawn-out week waiting for Democrats to end the
Schumer Shutdown, but I wanted to take a moment to update you on the important
work we are doing to advance our conservative values.

I gave interviews with many radio stations across the district about the
government shutdown, which as of Wednesday has become the longest in United
States history. Democrat leadership is holding our country hostage over their
America Last demands, from healthcare for illegal immigrants to enhanced
Obamacare subsidies and reckless government spending. My Democrat colleagues
even proposed a so-called continuing resolution that would have spent more than
$1.5 trillion. At that point, it’s not a continuing resolution—it’s an
outrageous spending bill. While President Trump made sure our troops continue
to get paid, thousands of other hardworking Americans are waiting for their
paychecks because Democrats refuse to negotiate in good faith. Make no mistake:
Chuck Schumer and his party are so beholden to the far-left fringes of their
party that they’re willing to drag the entire country down. It’s long past time
to end this madness and get back to work on dealing responsibly with federal
appropriations.

I joined seven of my House colleagues in a letter to President Trump urging
him to let domestic farmers and ranchers meet the rising demand for beef,
following reports that the U.S. may begin purchasing it from Argentina.
America’s agricultural producers are world-class. From cattle ranches in
Minnesota and North Dakota to those in Texas, no other beef compares to ours.
Entertaining a trade deal with Argentina would undercut the very rural
communities that feed our nation. We have the product, the production, and the
capacity to supply everything we need right here at home. There is no good
reason our own farmers and ranchers shouldn’t have the first opportunity to
meet America’s demand. I strongly urge the President to reconsider because
America First should include our farmers and ranchers.

The Minnesota Supreme Court’s decision that USA Powerlifting discriminated
against a biological male by preventing him from competing in the women’s
division is a direct attack on truth and women’s rights. For over fifty years,
Title IX has guaranteed women and girls the chance to compete on a level
playing field. This ruling mocks that hard-won protection in order to appease a
radical ideology that denies biological reality. Men have undeniable physical
advantages that make competition against women fundamentally unfair and, in
some cases, unsafe. Across the country, girls have lost championships and
scholarships and even suffered injuries because of radical gender politics that
put ideology ahead of protection. No young woman should be forced to change
next to a man or be exposed in a locker room just to satisfy activists. That’s
why I voted for theProtection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which ensures
that only biological females can compete in women’s and girls’ athletic
programs that receive federal funding. The bill reaffirms the intent of Title
IX to protect women, not erase them. I will continue to stand for fairness,
safety, and truth by protecting women’s spaces and sports.

As the Schumer Shutdown continues on, I want to hear directly from you.
