The Pennsylvania Supreme Court election, once an obscure and sleepy affair, has escalated into an all out national fight. Tens of millions have been spent by both sides and on the ground it is hand to hand. 

The far-right is jockeying to turn this court into a decisive advantage over Democrats and aims to use it to uphold an extreme abortion ban, a full redistrict of the PA congressional map, and to rig the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential where Trump will seek a third term. 

The stakes are life or death.

To win this race the GOP has unleashed an unprecedented dirty tricks campaign comprised of deceptive mailers, ads, and now even canvassing efforts, that aim to convince Democrats and Independents to vote for the Republican ballot choices. 

Because the Judges appear without partisan affiliation MAGA’s ads and mailers use using pro-choice adjacent language into convincing that a no vote (the GOP ballot option) will “protect women” 

To combat this, Defend our Courts is doubling down on making it crystal clear to voters that voting YES is the only way to protect women. This week Spotlight PA took notice: 

Unfortunately despite the best efforts of us and our peers, it could all be for nothing. 

If the election were held today, there is a very real chance that we would lose it. Polling shows that the GOP’s disinformation strategy is working and that many of our voters are confused on whether to vote yes or no. 

Defend Our Courts is making a stand and leaving nothing on the table. We are defending this court like the Alamo and are spending money we don’t have on a last ditch final round of ads (see one of them here) to make it crystal clear for voters that a YES vote is the only way to protect abortion in PA.
