John, last Saturday, I spoke to thousands of people at the No Kings Rally in Portland. My speech focused on the need to show up for and support our communities.

As I said to the crowd in Portland, Donald Trump has probably never been to a potluck in his life. Why? Because he doesn’t value community. Maine deserves leaders—including governors—who show up for their neighbors, not just themselves. That's what I've been doing in my community and in public service, my entire life.

The No Kings rallies were a great example of what it looks like when people show up. I loved seeing folks at rallies in Freeport, Saco and Portland. And I am so grateful to all who gathered all over Maine on a beautiful autumn day to say No Kings! And No to Question 1! And yes to Democracy!

Donald Trump doesn’t care about feeding kids.

He doesn’t care about affordable health care.

He thinks housing is about profit.

He thinks this country is for kings. But we know this country is about the people and doing what’s right, no matter what.

It’s going to take a lot of courage, faith, and fight from every single one of us to defeat Donald Trump and his agenda of fear and hatred. I’m running for Governor because Democratic governors are the first line of defense against the Trump administration.
