As back to school season goes into full swing, I’m proud to stand with
teachers across our state who work hard to give the next generation the best
shot at their futures.

I’ve been an unwavering champion of our public schools my entire life. It was
public schools that gave me the foundation I needed for any future I wanted,
and it was public colleges that put me on track for a career in protecting our
lands, rivers, lakes, and mountains.

Without well-funded schools and well-paid teachers, our communities can’t
reach their full potential. Opportunities disappear and our kids miss out on
their chance to gain a top-notch education from well-qualified educators.

That’s why we must do everything we can to make sure our schools and teachers
have the resources they need to educate the future generations of Montanans.
Without their hard work, students across Big Sky Country wouldn’t have the
chance to dream and to learn.

I used my time as a state legislator to craft natural resource policies that
benefit all Montanans. And I will continue that fight in Washington if you’ll
allow me.
