Hey there, y’all,
When I’m out on the road, there’s one question folks ask me more than any other, and I bet you’ve been asking yourself the same thing. “What can I do?”
I know it’s easy to scroll the headlines and your social media feed and feel hopeless — that’s exactly how MAGA wants you to feel. But that’s not the answer.
The good news is that the question means you care. And so do your neighbors, friends, and people all over our big state. Trust me, I’ve put the miles on and I know. The people are READY to do something about this mess Trump, Abbott, and their buddies have us in. We have profound collective power.
So, to answer that question, what can you do to fight for our democracy, our future, our civil rights, and the rule of law right now?
- Make a plan to vote on November 4 by checking your voter registration and reviewing what’s on your ballot. You can find more information about the 17 proposed amendments to our state Constitution here.
- Remember that we’re all members of a pro-democracy movement across the United States. Sign up for a phone bank on 10/27 to call California voters and urge them to vote in favor of California’s Proposition 50 — that’s the legislation our CA friends crafted to blunt the impact of Abbott and Trump’s redistricting effort here in Texas. Now we gotta help make sure it happens! (Do you see the hope here?)
