We are here to transform the politics of this country.
And the only way that we will do that is by winning with mandates.
What we have to demonstrate — not just to Republicans, but even within our own party — is that we are ready to guarantee health care to every single American.
We are ready for a politics that unapologetically supports the labor movement and the right to a union.
We are ready for politics that supports rights to clean air and clean water; that understands welcoming immigrants is part of supporting our success as a nation; that we have to dismantle an unjust criminal justice system, and in order to actually establish public safety, we must open paths to education.
And we do that by making sure that we aren't just aiming for mere victory.
We are aiming to prove that our communities cannot be bought by special interests. We have to show them that their money is no good here.
Our representation should not go to the highest bidder.
