Apologies for my role in your overflowing email inbox, but I wanted to say something I believe a lot of Democrats have on our minds right now, including myself:

I really don’t want to play defense for the next four, eight, or twenty years. I want to play on offense and pass good policies — not just vote against bad ones.

I’m willing to bet you feel the same — but making that a reality starts with flipping control of Congress next year and holding ultra-competitive seats like mine. With that said, can you chip in $25 or whatever you can to power our campaign to victory?

I’ll say this: Whether we like it or not, Republicans have the ball right now — so I know it’s my job to play defense. That’s why I’ve used every tool available to push back against Trump’s authoritarian takeover and hold his criminal administration accountable.

But I think you’ll agree: Playing defense and stopping bad legislation doesn’t hold a candle to playing offense and passing good legislation. And we can only do that with a Democratic majority in charge.

If we take back the House, we can carry out investigations and Congressional hearings — not just demand them. We can pass a bill to lower energy and health care costs. And we can finally take steps to place a real check on Donald Trump.

I’m ready to play some offense — and I know you are too.
