Deadline extended! Share your feedback on the proposed revised Delegated Authority policy
We’ve extended the survey deadline to Oct. 31 for feedback on the proposed revised Delegated Authority Policy.
DES is refreshing the Policy, Procedures, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to make them more clear and useful for agencies. The proposed revised policy applies when agencies purchase or lease goods and services under Chapter 39.26 RCW.
We’d like you to review the proposed revised Policy, Procedures, and FAQs and take a short survey to share your feedback. Our goal is to make sure the updates reflect agency needs and align the policy with the new procurement risk assessment process.
DES will consider all feedback and you can expect to hear about the next steps for the development of this policy.
Success story
How a fair process helped a small business win
Rally Point’s owner, Matt Tighe, recently reached out to DES to share his gratitude after winning the statewide contract for uniforms and equipment. For his Seattle-based veteran- and micro-owned company, the award was more than a business deal—he calls it, “life-changing.”
He credits the fair and consistent process, along with support from DES staff. Matt said they “never overpromised and always kept the process professional and fair. That level of integrity really stood out.” Matt’s story shows the real impact of equitable procurement practices. By keeping processes clear, consistent, and fair, procurement professionals make it possible for small businesses to compete—and succeed.
