Supreme Court Upholds Religious Freedom!
No, your'e not seeing double...

VICTORY #1! From LifeSite News: "The US Supreme Court ruled 7-2 Wednesday in a decision siding with the Little Sisters of the Poor and their bid to stop being forced to distribute abortifacient and contraceptive drugs to their employees.
The Obama administration had first mandated that employers subsidize the provision of contraceptives, including abortifacient drugs, to their employees under the auspices of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), better known as Obamacare. The Little Sisters of the Poor, a Catholic institution that provides support for the elderly poor, refused to comply, as did other religious employers, sparking years of litigation." Read the entire article HERE.

VICTORY #2! From LifeSite News: "Government cannot interfere with a religious school’s judgment on who should or should not teach religion classes, according to a narrow 7-2 ruling handed down this morning by the United States Supreme Court.
Our Lady of Guadalupe School v. Morrissey-Berru and St. James Catholic School v. Biel concern two California Catholic elementary schools’ right to select educators who reflect their understanding of their faith, free from government interference." Read the entire article HERE.

Wisconsin Family Action issued a press release on Tuesday just after the decision was handed down by the Supreme Court, "The US Supreme Court has upheld religious freedom in every challenge brought against it this session, with two more victories today. Today’s rulings make it clear: The government cannot dictate hiring policies for religious entities, but it can provide for exemptions based on religious and conscientious objections." How Do We Celebrate Freedom?

On Sunday, June 28, Vice President Mike Pence was the special guest speaker at the annual “Celebrate Freedom Sunday” at First Baptist Church Dallas, where he told congregants that Christians need to hold fast to freedom and faith in “these challenging times.” Pence also said, "“faith and family, and not the bureaucracy and government, is the true way of life,'” and "'we live by the words of our national motto: 'In God we trust.'”

Pence continued, “The foundation of America is freedom, and the foundation of freedom is faith." READ the full transcript of VP Pence's speech HERE.

President Trump's Historic Mount Rushmore Speech

On July 3, 2020, one day prior to the celebration of Independence Day in America, President Trump delivered an historical speech at Mount Rushmore, South Dakota. In this speech he said, "We will never let them rip America’s heroes from our monuments, or from our hearts. By tearing down Washington and Jefferson, these radicals would tear down the very heritage for which men gave their lives to win the Civil War; they would erase the memory that inspired those soldiers to go to their deaths, singing these words of the Battle Hymn of the Republic: “As He died to make men Holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on.”

President Trump was introduced by South Dakota's Governor Kristi Noem who also rendered a strong message, "The men and women who built this country envisioned an America that would project a positive influence throughout the world. To spread the values of the rule of law, optimism and liberty to places that it had not known... Our love for America and our commitment to stand for the principles that make America unique deserves to be applauded."

Private Education To Be Disenfranchised from COVID Aid?

From RightWisconsin, "Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul is joining the fledgling effort to stop private schools, many of them religious, from getting any of the country’s coronavirus aid.

"Kaul on Tuesday joined a lawsuit being led by California, Michigan, Maine, New Mexico, and the District of Columbia to block the U.S. Department of Education from sending any of the $13.2 billion in aid money to non-public schools."

Julaine Appling, WFC president, says, "How sad that our attorney general wants to keep private schools from getting funds meant to help educational institutions during this virus. Private schools in our state are a great asset in the educational options for parents. These schools—both those that take voucher students and those that don’t—save taxpayers money. If the courts agree, it will be the parents who send kids to these schools who will be the losers."
