More from Politico:
“ The moves reflect Trump’s intent to undermine programs benefiting Americans in blue-leaning states, while leaders from both parties work to negotiate a government funding agreement. Trump has suggested the shutdown could offer a pretense to cut programs he doesn’t like. "
The reasons to dump the Electoral College continue to grow. Any amount helps -- pitch in with $5, $15, or more to support efforts for a popular vote presidential election >> [[link removed]]

Politico: Trump targets states that voted for Harris in shutdown fight [[link removed]]
There's never been a clearer reason to get rid of the Electoral College, John. We're watching in real time as those in control of the federal government are using it to exact revenge on states that didn't go their way in the last election. Straight from Politico:
“ The White House is targeting Democratic states with its first wave of cuts to federal projects following the government shutdown, impacting billions of dollars in funding for energy and infrastructure ”. Russ Vought, author of Project 2025 and director of the Office of Management and Budget, has gone after billions in federal spending in so-called "blue states" but not publicly announced cuts that affected any state that backed Trump in 2024.
“ We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn’t want, and they’d be Democrat things ,” Trump told reporters ahead of the shutdown. He's not even trying to hide his intent to punish the states that didn't come in for him in the Electoral College.
The Electoral College gives the vote suppressors another tool to target those who disagree with them and harm voters. We have to remove this danger once and for all -- chip in $5, $10, $15 or whatever you can to help us move towards a popular vote system >> [[link removed]]

We don’t necessarily have to wait for Congress to act, either. Movements like the one in favor of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) -- an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia -- could end the Electoral College without a constitutional amendment.
16 states plus DC have already joined the NPVIC, accounting for 206 electoral votes and 76% of the states needed to essentially make the popular vote the law of the land. Maine is also moving a bill through their state legislature to join.
Whether it's the NPVIC or something else, it's clear that the Electoral College needs to go.
Help us end the Electoral College forever with $15 or more today! >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
Your support is crucial to our efforts. Will you donate today to help us protect voting rights? [[link removed]]
