Hey there, it’s John. I was digging through some old photos when I came across this, and I figured you’d get a kick out of this one:
[link removed] [[link removed]]…yup, that’s me. Back then, I didn’t have a political bone in my body — I studied to become a geologist. Then, when our company got bought, I was laid off for 27 months and scrounged together every cent I had for a big gamble: opening Colorado’s very first brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company.
For seven years, my partners and I worked 70-80 hours a week – the equivalent of two full-time jobs – with little pay. Then, after about 10 years of hard work, our business really took off. That allowed me to express all my frustrations with how our local government so often seemed to work against our small businesses. So I decided to run for Mayor of Denver — and the rest is history.
But here’s the reason I’m telling you all this: this story is the reason I’m still in this fight — the reason I’m still sticking up for the little guy.
Look, I’m just a laid-off geologist turned brewer, and I only entered politics because I felt like the concerns of everyday folks like you simply weren’t being heard — and I wanted to change that. With our country facing daily chaos and Trump’s nonstop attacks on working families, we need someone to stand up for everyday Americans more than ever.
And since I was first elected to the Senate in 2020, we’ve invested billions to fight the climate crisis, lowered prescription drug costs, and brought thousands of good-paying jobs back to America — and we’re fighting day in and day out to protect that progress and keep pushing for more. So if you’re with us, can you pitch in today to help us keep up the fight for working people? [[link removed]]
