That’s why I’ve introduced legislation to keep nonprofits, schools, and organizations afloat.
Friend,
It’s been over 100 days since Pennsylvania’s state budget expired — and every single day since then, our communities have been forced to pay the price.
I’ve heard from childcare centers taking out loans just to keep their doors open. From human service agencies and centers struggling to pay staff. From foster parents not getting paid. From counties and schools forced into debt to continue providing critical services that they were already promised funding for.
That’s why I just introduced new legislation to reimburse these organizations for the interest on any loans they were forced to take out during this budget crisis.
While our counties and providers are borrowing money to survive, the Commonwealth is actually earning interest by withholding funding. That’s unacceptable.
