Hey John, John here with an update:
Housing costs are out of control. Rent’s too high. Buying a home feels impossible. And fixing a leaky roof? The straw that breaks the budget’s back. 🤦
So after witnessing the massive success of PA's Whole-Home Repairs program in helping hardworking people repair (and keep) their homes, I knew this is something we had to bring to the national level.
This could help millions of American families all across this country, so I wrote a bill to do just that. And just last week, the Senate passed the ROAD to Housing Act – a legislative package that included my Whole-Home Repairs bill. 🏠🛠️
By creating grants and forgivable loans for home repair, we're going to be able to help millions fix up their homes. It'll help keep home prices down by protecting housing supply and making a dent in fixing the housing crisis across our country. 💪
It's a step in the right direction, and I hope to see this bipartisan bill get through the House soon and be signed into law.
