John,
Because California is a blue state, sometimes we forget what it’s like to have the eyes of the nation on us and our election results. But this November, California voters have the chance to shape the future of the entire country with Proposition 50.
Prop 50 — Governor Gavin Newsom’s Election Rigging Response Act — is California’s answer to Donald Trump and Texas Republicans’ desperate attempt to redraw congressional maps and lock in MAGA control of the U.S. House before voters even get a say.
If Prop 50 passes, we’ll neutralize that scheme — and keep the fight for the House alive.
Here’s what Punchbowl News recently reported:
“It’s hard to overstate the significance of this ballot measure. Democrats could neutralize the new Texas congressional map. Calvert, LaMalfa, Reps. Darrell Issa, Kevin Kiley and David Valadao could lose reelection. This could very well sway the battle for control of the House.”
They’re right. The stakes couldn’t be higher for passing Prop 50.
But even if we are victorious this November, our work isn’t over. Far from it.
The moment Prop 50 passes, we’ll need to spring into action:
➡️ Develop fresh strategies for the redrawn House maps;
➡️ Reprint literature and redeploy staff to the new toss-up districts;
➡️ Secure leases for new regional offices and get organizers in place — all on a shorter timeline than ever before.
That’s why we’re aiming to raise $20,000 for our Fight Back Fund. Because it’s not enough to win the Prop 50 fight. Passing Prop 50 keeps the door open to winning the U.S. House — but with your help, we’ll run right through it. [[link removed]]
