Dear John,
The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is still accepting comments on a proposed rule that would require voters to show specific, costly, hard-to-access documents like passports in order to register to vote.
The deadline to submit a comment is October 20 — just six days away!
This is our chance to stop a harmful barrier to voter registration! Submit a comment to the EAC asking it to protect voting rights.

If passed, this new rule could stop up to 21 million eligible voters from registering to vote, particularly rural folks, students, women, and communities of color.
These are our friends, family, and neighbors. Each of us deserves to make our voice heard in our democracy, whether or not we’ve spent the money to obtain a passport.
Anti-voter extremists want to silence our communities – and they’ve already sent over 200,000 comments to the EAC in support of this anti-democratic initiative. Let’s work together to fight back and ensure the freedom to vote is protected for all of us.
We’ve explained how to submit your comment, and even provided some sample comments, on our website. Take two minutes to speak up for voting rights! >> [link removed]
