Folks — Even during a global pandemic, Donald Trump won’t stop his efforts to cut healthcare access for millions of Americans and destroy the Affordable Care Act.

The other week, the Trump administration filed a legal brief calling for the Supreme Court to strike down the ACA.

But while they’re in court, trying to take away healthcare coverage from over 20 million Americans, House Democrats voted to make healthcare more accessible and more affordable.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act passed the House last week and will lower Americans’ health coverage costs, negotiate lower prescription drug prices, expand coverage, combat inequity in the system, and strengthen protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions.

We should expand access to care right now, not take it away. The devastating health impacts of coronavirus have been compounded by economic anxieties associated with healthcare costs for too many over the past few months.

Americans will feel the impact of a lost job, a staggering hospital bill, or a deceased loved one for years to come. The last thing anyone should have to worry about right now is having healthcare.
