This morning, my team informed me that we would need to raise just about $10K from our grassroots supporters today to meet our ambitious Q3 fundraising goal (yes, this is an actual number).
I just launched this campaign (my first run for office) in July. I knew we had so much to offer and a fresh, bold vision for the Democratic Party and for New Hampshire that people sorely need right now.
But I didn’t really know what to expect when we launched. Now, I understand that we have tapped into something—something much bigger than me, or any one person. This campaign is about standing up when the powers that be tell us to sit down and shut up. It’s about never backing down when our freedoms and our democracy are on the line.
That’s why it shouldn’t have surprised me that as of this writing we have nearly met the ambitious targets we set for our very first fundraising quarter.
While we started today needing about $10K, we now have to raise $1,573 to get to our goal (yes, this is an actual number too). And we have until midnight Eastern time to close the gap.
