Greetings from UWD’s West Coast Members, friend! ☀️
We recently held our West Coast Membership Convening — a grounding space where immigrant youth gathered to connect, find their voice, and learn how to empower our communities into action.✊🧡
Over many conversations and trainings, we walked away from this weekend holding one undeniable truth about our journey ahead: To win, we need each other.
Building community — with our friends, our neighbors, our coworkers — is our most powerful act of resistance. As we settle back into our communities, we’re ready to gather our inner circles and talk about the moment we’re facing and what small actions we can each take to build the future we need.
👉 Our ask for you is to use this moment to build community power in Washington.
Check out our “Building Community Power” Guide today for a step-by-step on how to cultivate powerful conversations and gatherings in your community:
Build Community Power
📸 This is us learning how to own our organizing stories: our personal values, our lived experiences, the motivations that drive us to show up daily to care for our community. Building community power starts with realizing our own power.
Friend, our communities thrive when we have spaces to connect, recharge, and strategize. In fact, our future depends on it. Wherever you are, you have the power to make these spaces possible.
