Whew, what a month! I've been moving around quite a lot since the last Delta Dispatches, from boat trips for the Katrina anniversary to our community workshop series around the coast (read more below!), and then on to boxing up our old office and moving across town to a new one. I've unpacked and repacked my car too many times to count, and I'm sure many of my colleagues feel the same way.

With all these moving parts, as always, our ever-changing coast has been on the brain. Getting to hear from all of you about your concerns, ideas, and hopes for the coast over the past month has been so thought-provoking and inspiring, and I'm reminded that the best way to deal with change at any scale is to have a plan, remain flexible, and take care of one another. Our Coastal Master Plan is a vital tool for the challenges we face here in Louisiana, but it works best if science and community voices are working together to get a comprehensive picture of the ever-changing environments we live and work in. Your input, care, and creativity are so important as we move forward together into an uncertain future and stay hopeful for our coast.

In this month's newsletter, I’ll recap our Community Ideas workshops and share resources and reminders for submitting your coastal challenges, let you know where you can find our team throughout October, and share some job listings if you'd like to take your passion for restoring the coast to the next level. Thanks for reading!

Share Your Coastal Challenge by October 17th!

We recently wrapped up our fall Community Ideas Workshops for the first 2029 Coastal Master Plan project solicitation period. Attendees learned more about the master plan process, discussed challenges specific to their area, and got feedback on their project ideas. Thanks to everyone who came out to talk with us! A reminder that the deadline to submit your project idea or coastal challenge for this round is October 17th, 2025. You can submit your project at this link or by clicking the button below.

If you missed this series or just want a good overview of the process, check out this blog on our website by Kelly McNab, our Senior Communications Associate at MRD. And for an even deeper dive, check out all the resources on CPRA's 2029 Master Plan webpage here.
