All summer on the campaign trail, I heard folks are onboard with sending a fresh perspective to Sacramento – one that’s centered on the lived experiences of Californians and whose top priority is keeping money in people’s pocketbooks and making our basic needs more affordable.

From day one, that is what this campaign has promised, and what we will bring to California.

But while we’ve made good progress toward our goal, we still need some help to keep our momentum through the Fall.

Tuesday at midnight marks a critical fundraising deadline for our campaign, and we're hoping to see a large number of donations come in to meet our target. Unlike a lot of campaigns, my only touch point with each of you isn’t solely these emails.

We’ve set out to do things a bit differently. Our goal is to engage communities throughout the state with our vision. And we’re doing it now instead of just months before election day like a typical campaign might.

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe strongly in the need to communicate with everyone around the big issues we’re facing, and to understand more deeply who and what I will represent as Governor -- in every corner of this state and as early as possible. That's where you come in, John:
