John,

I have always said our best leaders have something that drives them to do right by others. A moral compass that directs them to help the people they serve. For me, it’s my faith.

My faith teaches me to love my neighbor, lead with compassion, and treat every individual with dignity and respect. These principles guide me in my work as Governor of Kentucky, as a father, as a husband, and as a friend.

Lately, my faith has driven me to find ways to help the children and families of Kentucky. I believe every child deserves the chance to learn in a safe classroom, grow up healthy, and dream about their future without fear that it’ll be out of reach. That’s why I’ve worked to expand early childhood education, improve foster care, and invest in safer schools here in the commonwealth. I have even introduced my “Pre-K for All” initiative, which would make Pre-K free for all Kentucky four-year-olds.

When we care for all our kids and look out for one another, we care for the future of Kentucky and our country as a whole. These initiatives allow children the chance to learn and thrive. It gives their parents the chance to head back to work and invest in our economy. It creates more jobs to teach our youngest and brightest. This is the kind of work I’m proud to be a part of.

John, not everyone is driven by faith, and that’s okay. Some are guided by conscience, compassion, or a simple sense of decency. But what truly matters is that we all share a moral responsibility to make life better for one another — to ensure our government works for all people, not just some.

There are leaders across the country doing similar work in their communities — finding ways to support all of their constituents, not just a chosen few. We need more of this leadership, and I’m proud to support candidates who embody this drive to do what’s right, no matter what.
