New Mexico is in the midst of a healthcare crisis.

Donald Trump is raising healthcare costs, and New Mexico is facing the
second-worst physician shortage in the country.

Right now, people are waiting months for care, traveling out of state to
see a specialist, or going without care. At the same time, healthcare
providers are stretched thin, underpaid, and overworked.

Supporting our doctors has never been more urgent. But instead, the
University of New Mexico refuses to raise resident physicians' pay — among
the lowest in the Southwest — and is trying to remove strong
anti-discrimination language from their contracts.

Failure to
invest in healthcare providers and tackle our healthcare crisis head-on
will have long-term consequences for care across our state.

That’s why Deb is urging the UNM Board of Regents to increase salaries for
resident doctors and preserve anti-discrimination language in their union
contracts. And it’s why, as governor, she’ll protect Medicaid, lower
healthcare premiums, invest in rural hospitals, and recruit and retain
healthcare providers.

you add your name now to stand with Deb and UNM’s unionized resident
physicians? When we stand with resident physicians, we’re standing up for
patients, for families, and for a future where every New Mexican can get
the care they need.
