John,
I wanted to make sure you saw this news.
[ [link removed] ]Tweet from CBS News that reads: A branch of the National Archives
released a mostly unredacted version of Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill's
military records to Nicholas De Gregorio, an ally of Jack Ciattarelli, her
GOP opponent in the New Jersey governor's race.
The National Archives illegally released my personal records to Jack
Ciattarelli’s campaign ally. All part of a cowardly attempt to smear my
name and a weaponization of the federal government to win an election.
Here’s the truth: they’re scared of the campaign we’ve
built, John.
So they’re trying to take me down by undermining my record of service to
this nation.
But I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished:
I saved a fellow midshipman’s life on a training exercise. I received
numerous commendations and accolades for integrity, “devotion to duty,”
and “exceptional initiative.” I've even received the Navy Distinguished
Public Servant Award, the highest civilian honor that the Navy awards.
This is an unprecedented weaponization of the federal government to try to
win an election.
Jack Ciattarelli has the might of the federal government behind him. But I
have something more powerful: a grassroots movement of people like you.
