I wanted to reach out today about something that’s been on my mind.

White men are overrepresented in Congress. Too many voices and perspectives — especially from women, immigrants, and communities of color — are missing when critical decisions are made about our lives.

In both the primary and the general election, I’m the only non-white male candidate in this race.

I wanted to call this out because representation matters! It’s also why organizations like EMILY’s List, BOLD PAC, and Latino Victory Fund have stepped up so early to endorse my campaign. They believe in our mission and know it’s time for a change in Washington.

Look, I’m proud to be Latina. I wouldn’t change it for the world. But candidates like me who don’t fit the usual mold typically don’t get the same insider support or resources. We have to build this campaign the hard way, from the ground up.

And right now, with just 3 days left until our FEC filing deadline, we need to prove that this campaign has the strength to break barriers and win.
