I came to Congress to work. 

Yet, nine months into the year and 12 weeks after the largest cut to SNAP in our nation’s history, Republicans are on the brink of shutting down our government. 

They want to rewrite history on the harm their Big Ugly Bill will cause, but the hard truth is that it’s already hurting Americans. 

Republicans passed unprecedented cuts to Medicaid and nutrition assistance to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Now, hundreds of thousands of CT residents are at risk of losing healthcare & vital resources. The ripple effect could be devastating.

As Ranking Member of the Nutrition Subcommittee, I am focused on solving the nutrition and healthcare crisis caused by the Big Ugly Bill.
