Washington's Revenue Forecast Spirals Downward

A new announcement from the Office of Financial Management has a downward revision of Washington's projected revenues through 2029 to the tune of $903 million. While this is due to a combination of factors, including the national economy slowing, Olympia's last legislative session added fuel to fire by refusing to cut spending meaningfully and forcing the largest tax increase in our state's history. When many of these tax increases are targeted at businesses, including small businesses and startups, the chilling effect on future business ventures in our state is hard to ignore.
