More than 46,000 MoveOn members are demanding that Costco sell the abortion pill—sign the petition to add your voice!
Dear MoveOn member,
Right now, Costco is caving to anti-abortion extremists by refusing to sell mifepristone, the overwhelmingly safe, FDA-approved abortion pill. The vast majority of Americans support access to abortion and reproductive health care, so why is Costco bending to the vocal minority?
Anti-abortion extremists are calling Costco's refusal to stock mifepristone "a win."1 And they're not hiding their ultimate goal: "We would love to just see the administration stop the pill altogether."2
By refusing to stock mifepristone, Costco is abandoning millions of Americans who have and will need an abortion in their lifetime. Tell Costco to do the right thing and start selling the abortion pill in its pharmacies—add your name!
Trump and his administration have made it clear that their goal is to outright attack abortion access and reproductive health care. On top of defunding Planned Parenthood and threatening to prevent veterans from seeking abortion care or counseling through the VA, the administration just recently destroyed $10 million in contraceptives intended for countries supported by USAID.3,4,5
And anti-abortion zealots are exploiting the moment. Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a far-right law firm, and Inspire Investing submitted letters to pharmacies urging them not to start supplying mifepristone—including Costco. They're taking credit for Costco's decision and feeling emboldened to start demanding that pharmacies that already stock mifepristone, like CVS and Walgreens, pull the essential medication.6 They're stripping our reproductive freedom one pharmacy at a time.
Companies like Costco can fight back against the far right's attacks on reproductive care. Will you sign the petition calling on the giant corporation to sell the abortion pill instead of caving to extremists?
Thanks for all you do.

Costco is caving to extremists by refusing to sell the abortion pill—sign the petition to fight back!
Dear MoveOn member,
Costco just made a troubling decision to not sell mifepristone, a safe and FDA-approved abortion pill. Instead of siding with patients and members, Costco is caving to pressure from far-right extremists.7
Sign the petition to demand that Costco prioritize health and science over anti-abortion disinformation campaigns.
Mifepristone is overwhelmingly safe—even safer than penicillin and Viagra (both of which Costco pharmacies stock)—and it's been FDA-approved for over two decades.8 Millions of patients have used it safely, making it the most common method of abortion care in the U.S.9 But despite this, Costco is refusing to get certified to dispense the pill at its pharmacies, buckling under pressure from anti-abortion groups and investors.
Other major pharmacies, including CVS and Walgreens, have already received certification to dispense mifepristone. There's no reason Costco can't follow suit. Their decision is not about safety or consumer demand—it's about politics. And the people paying the price are customers and patients who deserve access to basic health care.
This isn't just about Costco—it's part of a coordinated strategy to ban medication abortion nationwide, even in states where it’s legal.
People's access to essential health care is on the line. Will you sign the petition to tell Costco's leadership to stop caving to extremist pressure and provide access to mifepristone?
Costco caved to a high-pressure campaign from conservative and religious investor groups.10 And this decision isn't just wrong—it's dangerous. Allowing far-right extremists to dictate what medications are available undermines both reproductive freedom and public health.
Senator Patty Murray has called on the company to "immediately reverse course—follow the science and the facts, not the demands of far-right anti-abortion extremists."11
Add your name to call on Costco's CEO to follow the science and make mifepristone available to its customers, just like Walgreens and CVS have done.
Medication abortion is overwhelmingly safe, effective, and widely used. Extremists know they can't ban it outright everywhere, so they're trying to cut off access by targeting corporations one by one. If Costco can be bullied into withholding access to FDA-approved medication, what other essential medicines could become harder to access?
The majority of Americans support access to abortion and reproductive health care.12 Costco must follow the lead of companies like Walgreens and CVS—and make it clear that anti-abortion extremists can't come between patients and their care.
We won't accept corporations making health care decisions based on far-right pressure campaigns. Tell Costco to dispense mifepristone now.
Thanks for all you do.
