DELIVERING TAX CUTS FOR WORKING FAMILIES
As a limited-government fiscal conservative, I strongly believe that, by responsibly cutting taxes for families, farmers, and businesses on Main Street, we can grow our economy and incentivize hard work.
Letting workers keep more of their paycheck, helping parents tackle the financial challenges of raising kids, keeping family farms alive through death tax relief, and encouraging small businesses and manufacturers to invest and hire are all critical components of economic growth, especially in rural communities.
These priorities are what we codified into law when President Donald Trump signed the Working Families Tax Cuts. By passing this legislation, we stopped the largest tax increase in U.S. history.
This historic package of tax cuts for families, farmers, workers, seniors and small businesses is the jet fuel that will ignite our economy and make life more affordable for Iowans.

SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS AND HONORING THEIR SERVICE
Meeting with Iowa veterans and ensuring that we support these heroes through the best healthcare and services that we have to offer is a top priority for me.
They have done the overwhelming duty of protecting our American way of life and our freedoms.

WISHING A SAFE AND ABUNDANT HARVEST TO OUR FARMERS AND PRODUCERS
With farmers out in the fields across our great state, I want to wish our producers a safe and bountiful harvest.
This week, we also recognize National Farm Safety and Health Week. It’s a time to remember the importance of farm safety and implement important practices to keep our rural communities safe and healthy.
Iowa agriculture will continue to be the breadbasket to the world.

GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR THE NEW VEHICLE MAINTENANCE SHOP IN SIOUX CITY
This week, the groundbreaking for a new Vehicle Maintenance Shop at the 113th Cavalry Unit of the Iowa National Guard took place in Sioux City.
This will replace the shop built in 1953 and allow for a runway expansion at the Sioux City Airport, supporting the 185th Air Refueling Wing.
I appreciate everything that the Iowa National Guard does to serve our communities and protect our state!

REQUESTING THAT PHOSPHATE BE ADDED TO THE CRITICAL MINERALS LIST
Phosphate, like potash, is a crucial input for Iowa farmers and producers, helping to increase yields, strengthen crop resistance to disease, and retain nutrients in farm ground.
However, with China controlling 40% of global phosphate production and other nations leveraging export controls to limit U.S. phosphate purchases, it’s important that we take steps to lower input costs and ensure that agriculture has access to affordable phosphate.
It’s why I joined Senator Ernst and other colleagues in requesting that Interior Secretary Doug Burgum add phosphate to the 2025 Critical Minerals List just as he graciously did after we asked that potash be included.
Phosphate’s addition to the Critical Minerals List will help us increase domestic production and protect Iowa farmers from outsized dependence on foreign nations for phosphate.

Feenstra Urges Phosphate Be Added to Critical Minerals List | This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) joined a letter - led by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) - asking U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum that phosphate be added to the Interior Department's Draft 2025 Critical Minerals List. Feenstra joined an earlier letter requesting that potash be added to the Critical Minerals List,... | | | |
WE MUST MAKE E-15 PERMANENTLY AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND AND NATIONWIDE!
We must make year-round E-15 the law of the land to lower gas prices for families, support our corn farmers, and reduce our dependence on foreign nations for our energy needs.
A recent study found that, by taking this action, $25.8 billion would be added to U.S. GDP, incomes would rise by $10.3 billion, and 128,000 jobs would be created.
I'll keep working to pass legislation to ensure that E-15 can be sold nationwide permanently.

ONE LAST THING: THE 2025 MILITARY ACADEMY SELECTION BOARD
I am excited to officially announce the eight members who will serve on our 2025 Military Academy Selection Board and recommend strong candidates to attend our nation’s exceptional military academies.
This is a consequential and important task, and I appreciate these Iowans for lending their time and talents to this process.
Attending one of our nation’s military academies is a distinct honor, and I look forward to reviewing and nominating young Iowans who have a heart for service and a commitment to defending our country’s values.
High school seniors interested in applying to a miliary academy should contact our Fort Dodge District Office at 515-302-7060. The deadline for consideration for next year’s class is next Wednesday October 1st.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: INVESTING $50 BILLION INTO RURAL HOSPITALS AND HEALTHCARE
Born and raised in rural Iowa, expanding access to high-quality, affordable healthcare in our rural communities is personal for me.
Regardless of zip code, our families, seniors, and veterans should not have to travel long distances or jump through headache-inducing hoops to get the care they deserve or the prescriptions they need.
It's why, as part of the package of tax cuts that Republicans passed and President Trump signed into law for working families, we included the largest investment in rural healthcare in history to the tune of $50 billion.
