I want to begin by expressing my deepest condolences to the friends and family of Charlie Kirk. Charlie inspired countless young people across the country to love America. His passion for ideas, debate and free speech was infectious. Charlie showed us how we can embrace our differences and prioritize respectful dialogue over political violence. May God rest his soul. The latest NAEP scores showed us that not onlu is K-12 public education not improving, it's declining. The scores indicate that a third of high-school seniors lack basic reading skills and nearly half can’t do rudimentary math. Compared to 2019, students performed worse on all three exams; math, science, and reading. I'm not anti-public schools, but I am pro-school choice. It's clear that the one-size-fits-all public school strategy isn't working -- that's why school choice is so important. Families deserve options so they can choose the best education that fits their child's unique needs. We got another reminder that state policy matters. Bed Bath and Beyond announced that they would no longer be opening stores in California. Marcus Lemonis, Executive Chairman of Bed Bath & Beyond, issued a statement citing the state’s high taxes and regulations as the driving factor behind the decision, writing: “This decision isn’t about politics — it’s about reality. California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers.” I'm happy to report that Arizona does not have that problem. More Communist Confusion and Delusion Also, I encourage everyone to check out this clip from Jesse Watters' show on Fox News. One of their reporters snuck into a Zohran Mamdani rally in New York City to hear directly from the socialists what they are expecting out of a socialist administration. Long story short: A lot more free stuff for them -- and YOU are going to be footing the bill.
