DEVELOPING… the Trump administration is seeking to overturn a critical and hard-won rule that balances the management of our beloved public lands.

If they succeed, it would mean more oil and gas drilling and mining on our public lands. Conservation, access to nature, and protection of wildlife habitat will officially fall by the wayside.

We are mobilizing NOW to prevent our country’s irreplaceable and treasured public lands from being broken up and sold to polluters. We need your help:

Right now, your renewed membership goes THREE TIMES as far to support our campaign, thanks to a group of donors who have agreed to TRIPLE MATCH all donations up to $50,000 through September 30.

Here’s what’s at risk: The Department of the Interior is proposing to roll back the Bureau of Land Management’s Public Lands Rule — an important rule that balances use of our public lands for conservation, wildlife habitat, watershed management, land health, and cultural resources. This is yet another attack on our public lands that prioritizes Big Oil and other corporate polluters when making decisions about land use.

The bureau oversees a whopping 245 million acres of land — and this move opens the door to more destructive drilling, mining, and logging operations on irreplaceable landscapes and historical and cultural sites. The effects of this new policy could reverberate for generations.

These lands belong to all of us. Their vast acres contain ancient petroglyphs and cultural sites that make up the fabric of our nation’s history and identities. They hold hiking trails, campgrounds, and once-in-a-lifetime destinations where we gather to connect with nature and each other.

These are the lands that make us us… and they belong to the people, not corporate interests.

Yet, despite popular support, our public lands and national parks are in crisis. Mass layoffs and budget cuts have already left our national parks understaffed. Critical projects and essential maintenance have been paused, even as visitorship is up. Now, the Trump administration is stretching land management even further in service of his dirty energy cronies.

We can’t do this without you. Thank you for all you do.
