As if this year wasn’t enough, Congress has introduced different bills that in effect would force every state to accept another state’s concealed carry permit. That includes those with weaker standards or none at all.
Under these proposals, states that require background checks, firearm safety training, or restrict permits to people that meet certain qualifications could be overridden if another state has looser or no such requirements. |
Law enforcement leaders, public safety experts, and communities across the country oppose this mandate because they know it will put more firearms in more dangerous situations. If Congress overrides our state standards, people who couldn’t qualify here would still be able to carry a concealed weapon on our streets. Help us protect state gun laws.
