Email from Tarrant County Third year of taxpayer wins . . .   We made it to the other side of budget season with a reduced county operating budget and lower tax rates. Every September, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court sets the operating budget and property tax rate for Tarrant County and the property tax rate for JPS (Tarrant County Hospital District). Since 2023, the Commissioners Court has successfully cut spending and tax rates each year. Tax Rates Below No-New-Revenue Rate for 3rd Consecutive Year See my statement below on the FY 2026 property tax rates: Nearly $80 Million Budget Reduction Over 3 Years The 2026 operating budget saved $21 million, which in combination with the last two budgets means almost $80 million saved in 3 years. These cuts came from reducing waste and creating efficiencies, all while increasing the quality and quantity of county services. Tarrant County prioritized public safety in the operating budget by including historic pay raises for law enforcement and increased funds for the District Attorney to prosecute crime. For the last three years, Tarrant County has operated under the principle that taxpayers deserve responsible, efficient government. With gratitude,   Tarrant County | 100 E.
