Fall migration is underway, and the birds need your help.

Fall migration is one of the most dangerous times for warblers ([link removed]) , according to a recent article from National Audubon Society. Among the hazards for both young, inexperienced birds and birds who have navigated migration before are excess outdoor lighting and building windows. You can help them by turning out excess outdoor lights through November 15. You also can help document hazards in developed northern Virginia by volunteering with the Wildlife Rescue League to monitor building collisions during migration. Here is a link ([link removed]) to the Wildlife Rescue League volunteer survey ([link removed]) . If you have questions about what is involved, you also can contact our Bird Safe NoVA team at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

Help NVBA continue important conservation initiatives like this one by making a donation online ([link removed]) . Thank you for helping us help birds!

Thank you for your consideration,
Northern Virginia Bird Alliance
