John,
A new Senate report just dropped:
This report, from the Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), goes into detail about how DOGE risked all of our privacy when they put our private Social Security data on an insecure server.
According to the report, an internal Social Security Administration risk assessment determined that the likelihood of a data breach with “catastrophic adverse effect” is between 35 and 65 percent.
Then they did it anyway.
“In a worst-case scenario, one whistleblower noted the possibility that the agency may need to re-issue SSNs to all who possess one.”
This report is shocking. But there’s also so much that they can’t get to without the cooperation of the Senate majority. Can you send a message to Sen. Mike Crapo, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and demand he investigate the coverup at the Social Security Administration?
An initiative aimed at “efficiency” shouldn’t undertake work that has a 50-50 chance of making an understaffed agency issue new Social Security numbers to 300 million Americans. That proves that Elon Musk and DOGE had another agenda at play. This committee report says as much:
“It is unclear why such a high-risk project is needed, or why DOGE personnel require the use of live data free from the supervision of agency officials. One whistleblower told staff that the purpose of the database might be to provide free SSN verification for other federal agencies, but circumventing basic safeguards suggests that project may have other purposes.”
[NON-signers Link] We demand answers―and leadership at the Social Security Administration is stonewalling. Chairman Crapo has the power to investigate this coverup. Send a message now!
Thank you,
