Conditions in the camp have only worsened since my last visit. The girls’ menstrual needs continue to be unmet as drastic cuts to U.S. humanitarian aid push the camp to its breaking point. Without sanitary pads, these girls face serious health risks, discomfort, and psychological stress. When girls can manage their periods safely, these risks and indignities decrease.
This November, I’ll return to Kakuma with another delivery of sanitary pads. Our goal is to provide one million pads, but we’re short of the funds needed to give about 9,500 girls the supplies they need. Your gift today will directly fund the purchase and delivery of these essentials.
No girl should be forced to choose between her health and her future. Please donate now to keep girls in school and dreaming.
