Good morning!
I am excited to be on the road this week with my colleagues for a Capital Investment Committee bonding tour. This is the first in a series of tours and includes stops in our home district. These visits are an important chance to see projects up close, hear directly from local leaders, and better understand community needs as we prepare for future bonding decisions.

Fraud News
As I’ve shared before, Minnesota is facing a massive autism therapy fraud investigation where providers are accused of billing for services that were never delivered and exploiting programs meant to help children with special needs. Just this week, federal prosecutors announced that Asha Hassan, already charged in the Feeding Our Future scandal, is now facing wire fraud charges in a $14 million autism therapy fraud scheme. This case is another example of how deeply fraud continues to undermine programs meant to help Minnesota families. Every dollar stolen is money taken away from children and vulnerable people who truly need support, and it erodes public trust in state programs. Lawmakers must continue pressing for stronger oversight and accountability to stop these schemes before more taxpayer dollars are wasted.
Moriarty in Minneapolis
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty recently announced she will not run for reelection next year. Soon after, she unveiled a new policy ending prosecution of felony charges uncovered during low-level traffic stops. Serious crimes such as illegal gun possession and drug trafficking are often found during these encounters, and refusing to prosecute them puts the public at risk. This sets a dangerous precedent in the Twin Cities by protecting criminals over residents. Local law enforcement says Moriarty made this decision without consulting them, leaving officers in a potentially dangerous position and undermining their ability to do their jobs.
