Priory

Further night-time closures with A52 project

National Highways, which is responsible for the A52, has informed residents and motorists of a series of overnight closures involving the section between the Priory and QMC roundabouts (above).

This is part of the wider project to upgrade the road surface, which is coming to the end of its serviceable life. The works are also improving drainage and seeing new lighting introduced.

From Monday (29 September) until Friday 10 October (excluding weekends), the road will also be closed in both directions between 8pm and midnight.

As with previous overnight closures, National Highways will be operating marshalled closure points, as well as intercom traffic signs at roadworks closure points, to provide local access.

During the closure, road users wishing to travel eastbound on the A52 will be
diverted south onto Woodside Road (A646), before travelling east along University Boulevard (A6005). They’ll then travel north along the A52 towards to Queens Medical Centre.

Road users wishing to travel westbound along the A52 will be diverted south along Clifton Boulevard, before travelling west along University Boulevard (A6005), and then north on Woodside Road (A646), before rejoining the A52.
