John –
Midwestern states like Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio delivering the majority for Democrats in Congress is not a pipe dream; it is recent history. In 2018, Democratic challengers and incumbents were winning races in districts up and down the Mississippi River, turning the entire region into a tributary for the Democratic Majority.

Republicans have spent much of the last decade focusing on these Mississippi River districts, winning over independent, disaffected, and first-time voters with lies about their democratic incumbents and lofty promises on which they have not been able to deliver.
Though they may have hoped voters wouldn't pay attention or hold them accountable, it looks like that gamble may be a bad one. The snap-back against this Republican shift started in January and has consistently continued throughout the year.
- In three Iowa special elections that took place in legislative districts that border the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, Democratic candidates outperformed their 2024 results by over 20 points each time and have already flipped two State Senate seats from Red to Blue.
- In March, voters in Wisconsin elected the progressive candidate to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and analysis after the election showed the counties with the biggest swing to the left were the southwest Wisconsin counties.
- In multiple special elections throughout Minnesota, Democrats are overperforming their 2022 and 2024 numbers in every single race.
No one race in 2025 is a key indicator for what is going to happen in the 2026 midterms, but the trend tells an important story. Voters in districts up and down the Mississippi River are holding Republicans accountable not only for not delivering on their promises, but actively voting for programs and initiatives that make their lives harder.
Midwest Majority PAC is focused on building on these recent electoral successes to inform where and how we focus our resources ahead of the 2026 midterms and beyond. While national fights break out about redistricting, we know that a congressional majority can be won back here, in the heart of the Midwest. The Midwest is quite literally our route to putting a check on Trump's abuses of executive power and chaotic policies that making people's lives harder and more expensive.
We are focused on rebuilding this tributary to the majority, but to be successful, we need your help. Will you chip in today to help secure a Democratic Congress through the Midwest?
Sincerely,
Tyler & Daniel
