John, it's Chair Jeanna Repass, and our team at the Kansas Democratic Party wanted you to be the first to know:
Public reporting shares that Republicans in the Legislature are seriously considering trying to take away our Democratic representation in Congress.
John, this is why protecting the Governor's veto and gearing up to supporting Rep. Davids next year is so important. Will you chip in today to help us prepare for what comes next?
[BUTTON-DONATE]
John, Republicans in Congress KNOW their policies are unpopular and are hurting working-class Americans—but instead of Republicans changing their policies to benefit Americans, they want to take away any Democratic opposition that could put a check on their power.
New Congressional maps can only be drawn by the state legislature, and just like Texas and Missouri, Kansas Republican leadership is jumping on the opportunity to do the bidding of Donald Trump in a rare, mid-decade special session.
Because we hold the Governor's mansion, Republican leaders have to petition to start that special session—thank goodness—but with their veto-proof majority, Democrats still need to prepare to work 10x harder to defend our lone Congressional seat in 2026 if new maps pass.
That's why we're fundraising EARLY—and our next deadline is less than a week away. Today, will you chip in to help us raise $5,309 so we can reach our End of Quarter Fundraising Goal and protect our voice in Congress, regardless of what comes next?
