Take Action:
Protect Healthcare Access

advocate,

Millions of Americans rely on Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits to keep their coverage within reach.

🚨Government funding runs out in less than a week. We need you to tell your Congress member to keep the government open and extend ACA tax credits in the reconciliation bill before they expire at the end of 2025.

Key harmful provisions include:
  • Insurance premiums will skyrocket, forcing families to spend more on coverage or go without care.
  • Health coverage for working-class Americans will collapse, with 14.2 million more people projected to become uninsured nationwide.
  • Health insecurity will deepen across the country, as costs rise and families already struggling to make ends meet are pushed even further behind.
What you can do:
Contact your representative in Congress TODAY. Ask them to keep the government open and extend ACA tax credits in the Reconciliation Bill. Every call/email makes a difference.

Please fill out this form afterward so we can track this call to action.
We’ve included sample scripts below to help you know what to say.

📞 Call Script: Urge Your Representative to Extend ACA Tax Credits
Hello, my name is [Name]. As a constituent from [City, State], I’m calling to urge [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to keep the government open and extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits in the reconciliation bill. These tax credits have allowed millions of working families – including many in my community — to afford health insurance.

Will [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] commit to funding healthcare access and fighting to extend these critical tax credits?
📧 Email Script: Urge Your Representative to Extend ACA Tax Credits
Dear [Representative NAME],

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to keep the government open and extend Affordable Care Act tax credits in the reconciliation bill. These tax credits have helped millions of working families — including many in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities — afford health insurance.

If they expire, premiums will rise sharply, families will lose coverage, and millions of Americans will be left without the care they need. More than 14 million people nationwide will become uninsured, including 156,000 AANHPIs who will lose access to zero-premium plans. 4.5 million AANHPIs rely on Medicaid, and losing these supports would devastate families already struggling with rising costs.

No one should have to choose between housing, food, or the medical care they need to live. Please protect working families by funding healthcare and extending these critical tax credits.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[City, State]
Why this matters to our community:
Our AANHPI communities include families, immigrants, and working people who depend on affordable healthcare. Entire households could lose the care they rely on if Congress doesn’t act.
  • Nationwide, 4.5 million AANHPIs rely on Medicaid, and over 1.5 million receive coverage through the ACA Marketplace.
  • If ACA tax credits expire, 156,000 AANHPIs will lose access to zero-premium health plans.
  • 1 in 5 Asian Americans and 1 in 3 Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders rely on Medicaid for healthcare. 56% of AAPI adults say healthcare costs are the most difficult expense to afford.
  • 1 in 9 Asian Americans and 1 in 6 Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders live in poverty, making access to affordable healthcare essential.
Our communities cannot afford more barriers to care. Congress must keep the government open and extend ACA tax credits to protect the healthcare our families depend on.
