Now that Rosh Hashanah has come to an end, I can tell you that I have been thinking a lot about my parents and grandparents who are no longer with us.
I’ve thought about the lessons they instilled in me over the years. The lessons that my family and faith taught me about our obligation to mend that which needs fixing in the world, even when so much around us seems broken. Those ideas continue to guide me to this day.
These principles have led me to try and make sure we help feed those who are hungry, to make housing the homeless a key priority, to attack discrimination, to ensure the rule of law is applied equally, and to protect our democracy — a precious miracle that has never been in greater jeopardy.
It is because of my family and faith that I have not been discouraged when Trump and his cult of MAGA allies hurl attacks my way. I know that even in the face of these MAGA attempts to retaliate against my efforts to hold the president accountable — from investigating and impeaching Donald Trump to managing his Senate trial to serving on the January 6 Committee — we can overcome their attacks, strengthen our democracy, and make the progress our country demands.
Will you pitch in $18 or any amount to help me get one step closer to making a brighter future our reality?
